What A Mediterranean Evening is and how it sounds
The Jetset Society is a professional live band and event band from Vienna. Alongside the flexible event band programme, the band offers four self-contained shows; A Mediterranean Evening is one of them. For around 100 minutes the focus is on Italo pop, French chanson and Latin pop, sung in Italian, Spanish and French.
The programme takes in “Volare”, “Azzurro”, “L’Italiano”, “Sarà perché ti amo”, “Bésame mucho”, “Guantanamera”, “Eviva España”, “Les Champs-Élysées” and “Comme d’habitude”, among others. The Mediterranean repertoire runs from Eros Ramazzotti, Adriano Celentano and Toto Cutugno through the Gipsy Kings and Julio Iglesias to Joe Dassin and ZAZ. With cha-cha-cha, samba, rumba and paso doble, the programme works on the dance floor as well.
Every title is played 100 per cent live, with no backing tracks. The lineup decides the tonal colour and the impact, not what can be played.
Which occasions it suits
The programme suits summer parties, garden parties, winery and hotel evenings, dinners and weddings, and equally corporate events, birthdays and anniversaries. The type of event stays what it is: a summer party remains a summer party, a wedding remains a wedding. A Mediterranean Evening is either a programme item within it or, as a stand-alone performance, the concert programme for the whole evening. The musicians speak English and will host in English on request.
How the programme fits into the evening
There are three ways:
- As a stand-alone performance: the programme of around 100 minutes can be booked on its own, including as a concert programme for the whole evening.
- As a programme item within a full evening of live music: the programme is combined with the event band programme, over dinner for instance, and forms a programme item of its own.
- In a more compact version: on request, the programme is played in a shorter form.

Lineup and space
A Mediterranean Evening can be played in any lineup from 4 to 11 musicians. Every size plays every occasion; a larger lineup is a recommendation for a larger number of guests, a larger room or a fuller sound, never a requirement. With additional voices and horns the programme gains a fuller sound.
As a guide to the space needed: around 4 m² for two people and roughly 3 m² for each further person, so about 10 m² for 4 and about 31 m² for 11 musicians. The space calculator is on the lineups page.
The band brings its own sound and lighting system up to a certain room size; that is the band’s recommendation. The venue’s system is used only if you specifically ask for it. Setup and soundcheck together take one to two hours; any volume limits are clarified in advance and applied at the soundcheck. For outdoor events, in a garden or at a winery for instance, weather protection and power are agreed with the venue beforehand.
