Client experiences & examples
Wedding in Vienna: reception, dinner and party
Situation: A couple planning a modern wedding for around 120 guests at an event venue in Vienna: the agape (the Austrian post-ceremony drinks) outdoors, dinner and party in the ballroom.
What they wanted: Understated live music for the agape and the drinks reception, a volume over dinner that left room for conversation, a first dance played live, and a full dance floor from around 9:30 pm.
How we did it: A lineup of 6 musicians with our own sound and lighting, the soundcheck settled beforehand, pared-back dinner sets, and a specially arranged first dance to carry the evening into the party.
Result: Three party sets that ran past midnight, with the dance floor full from the first dance onwards – elegant early on, exhilarating by the end.
Corporate event: formal start and later celebration
Situation: A corporate event for around 200 guests, combining reception, networking, dinner, speeches and awards with a party phase later on.
What they wanted: Live music with a sense of occasion: quiet enough for conversation over networking and dinner, respectful of the programme items, and noticeably livelier once the official part was over.
How we did it: A larger lineup of 8 musicians including horns, our full sound and lighting brought along, the volume kept deliberately in check through reception and dinner, and handovers agreed with the host and the venue’s technical team.
Result: The musical arc stayed stylish and the speeches had room to land – and once the formalities ended, the dance floor filled without any jarring change of gear.
Ball event: ballroom dances and modern dance floor
Situation: A formal ball with several hundred guests and a mixed audience. Every phase had to work, from the opening through the classic rounds of ballroom dancing to the party later on.
What they wanted: A ball opening with a Viennese waltz, dependable rounds of ballroom dancing (foxtrot, cha-cha-cha, rumba), a midnight show accompanied by the band, and modern party sets afterwards for every generation.
How we did it: A lineup of 9 musicians, with the music mapped onto the phases of the ball and fixed slots for the opening, the ballroom rounds and the performances, all agreed beforehand with the ball committee and the hosts.
Result: Ball tradition and a modern dance floor ran into one another seamlessly. The ballroom rounds stayed strictly in tempo, and the party phase kept the hall full to the end.
Gala evening: reception, dinner, programme and aftershow
Situation: A gala evening with reception, dinner, speeches, awards and a celebration afterwards, with live music carrying much of the evening’s shape.
What they wanted: Every phase was to have its own musical energy: reception, dinner, speeches, awards and the celebration afterwards, from an understated start through to a livelier close.
How we did it: The Jetset Society was planned in as one complete solution: the right lineup, technical coordination, soundcheck and direct contact with the venue or the planning team.
Result: The music reinforced the formal tone of the evening without overloading the schedule.
Hotel, dinner & lounge: refined impact without a big show
Situation: Reception, dinner, hotel bar, business lounge or jazz brunch: none of these called for a larger show lineup.
What they wanted: An elegant atmosphere, a comfortable volume and music that leaves room for conversation.
How we did it: A smaller lineup with a fitting jazz, lounge or dinner repertoire proved the more coherent answer.
Result: The music felt present and stylish without taking over the room.
