Lineups

The Jetset Society performs in flexible live band lineups from 4 to 11 musicians – tailored to the occasion, venue size, schedule and desired impact. From a compact live band to a large gala lineup, each setup is adapted musically and visually to your event.

Lineups from 4 to 11 musicians: The Jetset Society performs as a quartet, quintet, sextet, septet as well as in lineups with 8, 9, 10 or 11 musicians. Depending on the occasion, we create small, medium-sized or large live band formations.

The best lineup depends above all on the type of event, the number of guests, the venue and the atmosphere you would like to create. For smaller celebrations, stylish receptions and dinner settings, a compact lineup can be ideal. For balls, galas, large weddings or representative corporate events, a larger formation with more vocals, horns and stronger stage impact is often the better choice.

The basic lineup for event formats consists of 4 musicians: keyboard, bass, drums and vocals – with either a female or male singer. Depending on the occasion, this lineup can be expanded flexibly with additional vocals, guitar, one to four horns or a larger rhythm and stage presence.

One exception is jazz, lounge and dinner formations: here, the basic lineup can consist of 3 musicians – keyboard, bass and drums. These smaller setups are especially suitable for hotels, receptions, brunch, dinner and subtle background music.

All arrangements were developed specifically for flexible live lineups. This means musical quality, energy and recognisability remain consistent even when the band size is adapted to the room, budget, schedule or desired impact. Which lineup suits which type of event?

A compact overview of typical live band formations.
4 musicians

The compact basic lineup for many event formats: keyboard, bass, drums and vocals. It is suitable for smaller events, wedding ceremonies, receptions, dinners, private celebrations and occasions with limited space.

Effect: elegant, flexible, high-end and space-saving.

5 to 6 musicians

A very balanced formation for smaller to medium-sized weddings, corporate events, Christmas parties, receptions and evening events.

Effect: more fullness of sound, more dynamics and still very flexible.

6 to 8 musicians

Ideal for larger celebrations, balls, corporate events and weddings where dinner music and the later party section are equally important.

Effect: full live band energy with clear stage presence.

8 to 11 musicians

For large events, gala formats, representative corporate events, large balls and occasions with particular demands on sound, appearance and impact.

Effect: maximum presence, big sound and a powerful live experience.

For weddings, the right lineup depends strongly on venue, guest count and schedule. A wedding in Vienna, a wedding in Lower Austria or a wedding in Burgenland can each involve different requirements for space, setup time, technical planning, volume and musical impact.

Lineups in direct comparison

Which formation is especially strong in which situation.
3 to 4 musicians

Particularly suitable for jazz, lounge, receptions, dinners, hotels and smaller stylish events. For jazz formations, the minimum lineup can start with 3 musicians; for all other event formats, The Jetset Society usually starts with 4 musicians.

Strength: subtle, elegant, high-end and ideal where space is limited.

5 to 7 musicians

A versatile live band size for weddings, corporate events, balls, Christmas parties and occasions where atmosphere, dinner music and later danceability should be combined.

Strength: flexible, rich in sound, lively and suitable for many event schedules.

8 to 11 musicians

The right choice for large balls, galas, exclusive weddings, representative corporate events and occasions with stronger stage impact.

Strength: strong presence, big sound and a particularly impressive live experience.

Orientation by event type

Which lineups are often useful for which occasions.

For weddings, lineups with 4 to 7 musicians are often ideal. They allow for stylish music during the ceremony or reception, subtle dinner accompaniment and a lively party phase later in the evening.

For corporate events, 4 to 7 musicians are often a sensible choice – from a stylish reception to dinner music and a danceable evening programme. For larger corporate events, a bigger lineup can create more presence.

For balls, 5 to 11 musicians are often ideal. Depending on the size of the ball, elegance, danceability, opening moments, ballroom dances and later party atmosphere may all play an important role.

For galas and representative evening events, medium-sized to large lineups can be particularly suitable depending on the schedule. A high-quality overall impression, controlled volume and musical presence are essential.

For parties, 5 to 9 musicians are usually a strong fit. These lineups offer plenty of energy for the dance floor while remaining flexible for different rooms and audience sizes.

For jazz, lounge, receptions, dinner, brunch and hotel events, lineups of 3 to 5 musicians are often ideal. The music remains subtle, stylish and atmospheric without overpowering the character of the event.

For Christmas parties, the right lineup depends strongly on the schedule. For dinner and background music, a more compact formation may be enough; for a later party, a medium-sized live band lineup can be useful.

Lineup by event phase

Many events have several musical moments – not every phase needs the same energy.
Reception & networking

For receptions and networking, a compact, elegant formation is often ideal. Controlled volume, a polished atmosphere and enough flexibility for conversation are especially important.

Dinner & background music

For dinner, a smaller to medium-sized lineup works particularly well if the music should be present but conversation-friendly. Jazz, lounge and soul elements can be very suitable here.

Opening, show moment & programme

For a ball opening, first dance, award show or special programme item, a larger lineup with additional vocals, guitar or horns can create more impact.

Party & dance floor

For the later dance floor, live energy matters. The larger the room, audience and desired stage impact, the more useful a medium-sized to large live band lineup can be.

Lineup size and pricing logic

The lineup is one of the most important factors for the overall offer.

The number of musicians has a direct influence on planning, stage impact and price. A compact lineup requires less space and is often ideal for receptions, dinners, smaller weddings, private celebrations or events with a more elegant background character.

Medium-sized lineups are often the most versatile choice for weddings, corporate events, parties and balls where different phases need to be combined: reception, dinner, programme items and a later party section. Larger lineups with additional vocals, guitar or horns create more sound, more visual presence and a stronger live impact.

The final offer also depends on playing time, technical setup, venue, schedule, travel, setup time and the desired musical concept. You can find a general overview on the Pricing page.

Which lineup fits 80 or 150 guests?

Guest count is important, but venue, schedule and desired impact matter just as much.
Around 80 guests

For around 80 guests, a compact to medium-sized live band lineup is often suitable. For private celebrations, birthday parties or smaller weddings, 4 to 6 musicians can work very well if the focus is on elegant atmosphere and later danceable live music.

If a stronger party section, more vocals or more stage presence is desired, a lineup with 6 to 8 musicians may be the better choice.

Around 150 guests

For around 150 guests, a medium-sized to larger lineup is often useful. Depending on room size, stage situation and event schedule, 6 to 8 musicians can provide a strong balance between flexibility, sound and presence.

For larger corporate events, balls or galas, an expanded lineup with additional vocals, guitar or horns can create more impact and carry the evening more effectively.

These are orientation values, not fixed rules. The right lineup always depends on event type, room size, technical setup, programme, desired atmosphere and whether the music should remain subtle or become a central part of the event.

What we need for a lineup recommendation

A few key details are enough to recommend a suitable formation.
Event type & schedule

Wedding, corporate event, ball, gala, party or hotel event: the event type and planned phases help determine whether a compact, medium-sized or larger lineup makes sense.

Guest count & room size

The number of guests, room size, stage area and acoustic situation influence how much presence and technical support the lineup should have.

Desired impact

A subtle dinner atmosphere requires a different lineup than a full dance floor, a representative gala stage or a large corporate event.

Technical framework

Available space, stage, power supply, sound system and lighting are important for planning the right lineup and the necessary technical setup.

Vocals, horns, guitar and stage impact

The size of the band is only one part of the decision.

In addition to the number of musicians, the exact instrumentation also plays an important role. The Jetset Society can perform with a female singer, a male singer or both. Depending on the occasion, lineups with or without guitar are possible. Horns can be added individually or as a larger section and create additional energy and stage impact, especially for balls, galas, corporate events and parties.

The key question is not only how large the lineup should be, but what kind of atmosphere it should create: subtle and elegant, modern and groovy, representative and festive or energetic and danceable.

This page explains real live band formations with musicians, vocals and instruments.

When we talk about a lineup, we mean the actual live formation on stage: female or male vocals, keyboard, bass, drums, optional guitar, additional vocals and horns.

The right lineup ensures that reception, dinner, programme moments and dance floor fit together musically – from subtle and elegant to representative and energetic.

A live band lineup means the actual formation of real musicians, vocals, instruments and optional horns selected to fit event type, room size, guest count and desired impact.

Can the lineup be adapted to different event phases?

Yes. Reception, dinner, programme moments and the later party can require different volume, instrumentation and stage impact. The lineup is therefore adapted to the schedule, room and desired energy.
