What the ABBA show is and how it sounds

The Jetset Society is a professional live band and event band from Vienna. Alongside the flexible event band programme, the band offers four self-contained shows; the ABBA show is one of them. The bandleader is Thomas Gindl. The musicians speak English and will host in English on request. At the heart of the programme: the biggest ABBA hits as a show, played 100 per cent live by The Jetset Society as a live band.

The repertoire includes “Dancing Queen”, “Mamma Mia”, “Waterloo”, “The Winner Takes It All”, “Super Trouper”, “Money, Money, Money” and “Voulez-Vous”, and alongside them “Fernando”, “Chiquitita”, “Knowing Me, Knowing You” and “Thank You for the Music” – plus two complete medleys. The band’s ABBA songs are also listed on the repertoire page.

The outfits take their cue from the 1970s, but without any costume impersonation of the original members. If you are looking for an “ABBA tribute show”, what you get here is the music and the feel of the seventies. You can watch an excerpt from the ABBA show in the video on the live impressions page.

Which occasions the ABBA show suits

The ABBA show is a highlight at corporate events, corporate functions, client events, Christmas parties, galas, birthdays and parties. It is either a programme within the occasion – a corporate event remains a corporate event – or a stand-alone performance.

How the show fits into the evening

There are three ways:

Let us know in your enquiry which version you would like and the playing time you have in mind.

Lineup and space

The ABBA show can be played in any lineup from 4 to 11 musicians. Every size plays every occasion; a larger lineup is a recommendation – for a larger number of guests, a larger room or a fuller sound, for instance – never a requirement. The lineup decides the tonal colour and the impact, not what can be played.

As a guide to the space needed: around 4 m² for two people and roughly 3 m² for each further person – so about 10 m² for 4 and about 31 m² for 11 musicians. The space calculator is on the lineups page.

The band brings its own sound and lighting system up to a certain room size – that is the band’s recommendation. The venue’s system is used only if you specifically ask for it. Setup and soundcheck together take one to two hours; any volume limits are clarified in advance and applied at the soundcheck.

From enquiry to performance

You send your enquiry through the enquiry form, by email or via WhatsApp. The date, venue, type of event and the playing time you have in mind are enough – for instance whether the ABBA show stands on its own or forms a programme item in a full evening of live music. On that basis you receive a quote. On the day itself, setup and soundcheck come first, followed by the show.
